Destiny Quest

Destiny Quest

Destiny Quest is a web library catalog and so much more for your students!

It provides your child with the ability to quickly narrow their search for the book or information they want or need. They can find books by using traditional methods of subject, author, etc, but now they can also use other criteria to help them with their selection. Students can also select books using their reading level (it is the Fountas and Pinnell reading program), page numbers, and by student reviews.

For websites, your student is able to narrow their search by domain and subject on selected websites accessible through Destiny Quest. One of the wonderful research tools of the Destiny Quest Web is that students can find web sites that they want and store them in a list. This list is accessible to them at home, school, computer lab, and anywhere they can get internet connection.

Another great feature is that students can see the number of books that they checked out so they can be responsible for renewing or returning all their material.

With great apologies, we are not using the hold feature. The library is not providing "hold service" for the reason that students' request could tie up a great deal of material and time. The other reason is that the school library needs to support students' ability to learn to be able to independently negotiate libraries to retrieve the books that they desire, which is an important skill for lifetime learners.
